1 Introduction

Lumova Technologies (Private) Limited ("we", "our", or "us") built Zimma as a free personal task management application. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding information when you use Zimma on your Android device.

Zimma is designed from the ground up to be a privacy-first application. We take your privacy seriously — your personal task and schedule data stays exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to Lumova Technologies or shared with third parties. Zimma uses a small set of anonymous Firebase services to help us improve app stability and performance — these are configured to never collect your personal data.

By using Zimma, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

2 Information We Collect

The short answer: Your personal data — None.

Zimma does not collect, store, transmit, or process any personal information. Your personal task and schedule data stays on your device. Zimma uses anonymous Firebase services for crash reporting, analytics, and push notifications — these are configured to never collect your personal data.

Data You Enter in the App

When you use Zimma, you may enter:

Your display name
Task titles, notes, and descriptions
Task categories, priorities, and assigned persons
Due dates, times, and repeat schedules

All of this data is stored exclusively on your device's local storage using Android's SharedPreferences. It never leaves your device. We cannot see it, access it, or retrieve it under any circumstances.

Automatically Collected Data — Firebase Services

Zimma uses the following Firebase services which collect limited anonymous technical data. No personal information, task titles, notes, assigned persons, or schedule data, or financial data are ever included.

Firebase Analytics

Zimma uses Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used in aggregate. Firebase Analytics collects:

App open events and screen views
Session duration and app engagement
Device model, Android version, and country (not precise location)
App version
Advertising ID (a resettable, non-permanent device identifier) — collected as part of Firebase Analytics' standard operation, used only for aggregate analytics measurement

Firebase Analytics does not collect names, task titles, notes, assigned persons, or schedule data, or any personally identifying information. Zimma does not display advertisements and does not use the Advertising ID for ad targeting or personalized advertising — it is collected solely as part of Firebase Analytics' standard measurement functionality.

Firebase Crashlytics

Zimma uses Firebase Crashlytics to automatically detect and report app crashes. Crashlytics collects:

Anonymous crash reports with technical stack traces
Device model and Android OS version
App version at the time of the crash

Crashlytics does not include any personal data, task titles, notes, assigned persons, or schedule data, or identifiable information in crash reports.

Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM)

Zimma includes the Firebase Cloud Messaging library as part of its Firebase integration, but does not currently use it to deliver task reminders. All task reminders in Zimma are generated and scheduled entirely on your device using Android's local notification system — no server is involved in reminder delivery. Should Zimma introduce server-delivered notifications in a future update, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly before that feature is released.

Local notifications generated on your device will display your task title as the notification heading — this is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted to Lumova Technologies or Firebase. Notification permission is optional and can be revoked at any time in your device settings.

ℹ️ All Firebase services are provided by Google LLC and governed by Google's Privacy Policy. Firebase may process device-level technical identifiers such as Firebase Installation IDs, Advertising ID, and IP-derived country information as part of standard operation. Zimma does not use these identifiers for advertising or personalized advertising purposes — no ads are shown within the app.

✅ Your personal data never leaves your device. Firebase receives only anonymous technical data about app performance — never your task titles, notes, assigned persons, or schedule data or any personal information.

3 How We Use Your Information

Your personal data is used solely by the app itself, on your device. Lumova Technologies does not access or process your personal data. Anonymous technical data collected by Firebase (screen views, crash reports, performance metrics) is used solely to improve app stability and performance — never for advertising or profiling. All data you enter in Zimma is used solely by the app itself, on your device, to provide task management features including reminders, categories, and recurring task scheduling.

4 Notifications and Permissions

Zimma may request permission to send you local notifications on your device. These notifications are:

Generated entirely on your device — no server is involved
Used only to remind you of tasks you have scheduled
Never used to send marketing, advertising, or third-party messages
Fully optional — the app works without notification permission

Permissions Zimma may request:

• POST_NOTIFICATIONS — to send task reminders at the times you choose.
• SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM — to fire reminders at the exact time you set, not approximately.
• RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED — to restore scheduled reminders after the phone restarts.
• REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS — to keep reminders reliable on Samsung and other Android devices that aggressively manage battery.

None of these permissions allow Zimma to access your personal data, contacts, camera, microphone, or location.

5 Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not share your data with anyone — because we do not have it.

Zimma does not integrate with:

Any advertising network
Any advertising analytics platform (e.g. Mixpanel, Amplitude, Google Ads)
Any social media platform
Any cloud storage or sync service
Any third-party SDK other than Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, and Cloud Messaging)

6 Data Storage and Security

All data entered in Zimma is stored locally on your Android device using SharedPreferences — Android's built-in secure local storage. This data is:

Stored only on your device
Protected by your device's built-in security (screen lock, encryption if enabled)
Not accessible to other apps on your device (Android sandboxing)
Not backed up to any Lumova server — ever
Not backed up to Google Drive unless you have enabled automatic app backup in Android settings

⚠️ Important: If you enable Android's automatic backup feature, your app data (task names, categories, and settings) may be backed up to your Google account as part of Android's system backup. This is controlled entirely by your device settings, not by Zimma. To disable: Settings → Google → Backup → App data.

7 Data Deletion

You have complete control over your data at all times.

Delete All Data

Within Zimma: go to Settings → Hard Reset. This permanently removes all tasks, categories, people, and settings stored by the app on your device. This action cannot be undone.

Uninstall

Uninstalling Zimma removes all locally stored personal data permanently. Anonymous technical data previously processed by Firebase (crash reports, analytics) is subject to Google's data retention policies and cannot be deleted from Firebase servers.

8 Children's Privacy

Zimma does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The app is safe for all ages. Firebase services collect only anonymous technical data and are configured to exclude any personal data. No personal information is collected from any user of any age.

9 Internet Permission

Zimma does not require an internet connection to function. All features — task management, reminders, categories, and recurring schedules — work fully offline.

Zimma declares the INTERNET permission solely for Firebase services (Analytics, Crashlytics, and Cloud Messaging) to send anonymous technical data. Your personal task data, notes, and schedule information are never transmitted over the internet.

10 Changes to This Privacy Policy

If we ever update this Privacy Policy, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this document and release a new version of the app with the updated policy. Continued use of Zimma after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
