1 About VitalSign
VitalSign is a personal child health record organizer developed by Lumova Technologies (Private) Limited. It helps parents store, organize, and track their children's health information — including immunization records, growth measurements, doctor visits, medicines, and developmental milestones.
By using VitalSign, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
2 Data We Collect
Data You Enter
When using VitalSign, you may enter:
- Your name (used as "Mama" or "Baba" on child cards)
- Children's names, dates of birth, gender, and blood type
- Growth measurements — weight, height, and head circumference
- Immunization records and vaccine dates
- Doctor visit notes, diagnoses, and appointment dates
- Medicine names, doses, frequencies, and schedules
- Developmental milestones and personal notes
- Manual vaccine visit recording from health card
All of this data is stored exclusively in your device's local storage using Android's SharedPreferences. It never leaves your device. Lumova Technologies cannot see, access, or retrieve it under any circumstances.
Vaccine Records
VitalSign allows parents to record vaccine visits manually, entered entirely by hand from their child's health card or as recommended by their doctor. This works the same way for every country worldwide. VitalSign does not fetch, download, or sync any vaccine schedule from the internet — every vaccine record is created by you, stored only on your device.
Anonymous Install ID
On first launch, VitalSign generates a random anonymous install ID and stores it locally on your device. This ID is used solely to create a verifiable record of your Terms & Conditions acceptance — it is not intentionally linked to your personal data, and resets permanently if you reinstall the app.
Data We Do Not Collect
VitalSign does not collect:
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Location data
- Personal behavioral data or advertising identifiers
- Health records, child names, contact details, or directly identifying personal information
- Any biometric or sensitive health data beyond what you manually enter
3 How Your Data Is Used
Your data is used solely by the app itself, on your device, to provide the features you see — child health cards, growth charts, vaccine checklists, visit reminders, and medicine schedules.
Lumova Technologies does not use your data for advertising, profiling, research, or any other purpose. We cannot use it because we do not have it.
4 Data Sharing
VitalSign does not integrate with:
- Any advertising network or ad exchange
- Any advertising analytics platform (Google Ads, Mixpanel, etc.)
- Any social media platform
- Any cloud storage or database service
- Any third-party health data platform
- Any data broker or data aggregator
The only external network requests VitalSign makes are the anonymous Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics services described in Section 5. No personal health data is involved in any request.
6 Data Storage & Security
All data entered in VitalSign is stored locally on your Android device using Android's built-in SharedPreferences storage. This data is:
- Stored only on your device — not on any server
- Protected by your device's own security (screen lock, encryption if enabled)
- Sandboxed from other apps (Android's built-in app isolation)
- Never transmitted to Lumova Technologies or any third party
7 Notification & Reminder Reliability
VitalSign can schedule medicine and appointment reminders using Android's notification system. However, Lumova Technologies cannot guarantee that notifications will be delivered on time or at all due to factors outside our control, including:
- Android battery optimization settings restricting background activity
- Device manufacturer-specific power management (e.g. Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo)
- Do Not Disturb or Focus modes enabled on your device
- App being force-stopped or removed from recent apps
- Android OS version differences in notification handling
8 Notifications
VitalSign can send local notifications to remind you about upcoming doctor visits and medicine doses. These notifications are:
- Generated, scheduled, and delivered entirely on your device — no server or internet connection is involved in sending a reminder
- Fully controlled by you — you can disable them at any time in your device's notification settings
VitalSign requests notification permission during setup. You can grant or deny this permission. If denied, reminders will not function but all other features remain available.
9 App Permissions
VitalSign requests the following Android permissions:
| Permission | Why It's Needed |
|---|---|
| INTERNET | Allows Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to send anonymous technical data. No personal or health data is transmitted. |
| POST_NOTIFICATIONS | To send local reminders for upcoming visits and medicine doses. Android 13+ requires explicit permission. |
| SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM | To deliver reminders at the precise time you scheduled. Falls back to approximate timing if denied. |
| RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED | To reschedule your reminders after your device restarts, so they are not lost. |
| VIBRATE | To vibrate your device when a reminder notification arrives. |
| REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS | To allow reminders to fire on time even when battery saver mode is active on some devices. |
VitalSign does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, location, files, or any other sensitive device resource.
10 Children's Privacy
VitalSign is designed for parents and caregivers to manage health records about their children. The app is not directed at children themselves.
Your children's health records, names, and personal information are stored exclusively on your device and are never transmitted to Lumova Technologies or any third party. The only data transmitted externally is technical data to Firebase (crash reports and app usage analytics) which is configured to exclude health records, child names, and personal information you enter into VitalSign.
All health information you enter about your children remains entirely under your control, on your device.
11 Reference Ranges & Vaccine Records
Growth measurements you enter are compared against general, independently-sourced reference ranges for informational purposes only, to help you notice values that may be worth double-checking. VitalSign does not enforce, validate, or reject any measurement — every entry can be saved regardless, and the choice is always yours.
Vaccine records are entered entirely manually by parents, based on their child's health card or their doctor's guidance. VitalSign does not pre-load, recommend, or enforce any specific national or international vaccination schedule — parents in every country build their own record from scratch.
VitalSign is an independent record-keeping app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or approved by any health authority, immunization body, or government agency.
5 Firebase Services (Google)
VitalSign uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, provided by Google LLC. These services are configured to avoid transmitting health records, child names, medicine data, visit notes, or directly identifying personal information entered into VitalSign.
Firebase Analytics
VitalSign uses Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used in aggregate. This helps us improve the app experience. Firebase Analytics collects:
- App open events and screen views (which screens are visited)
- Session duration and app engagement
- Device model, Android version, and country (not precise location)
- App version
Firebase Analytics does not intentionally collect names, health records, child information, or directly identifying personal information entered into VitalSign. Firebase may process device-level technical identifiers such as Firebase Installation IDs and IP-derived country information as part of its standard operation.
Firebase Crashlytics
VitalSign uses Firebase Crashlytics to automatically detect and report app crashes. This helps us fix technical issues quickly. Crashlytics collects:
- Anonymous crash reports with technical stack traces
- Device model and Android OS version
- App version at the time of the crash
Crashlytics does not include any health records, child names, or personal data in crash reports.
12 Data Deletion
You have complete control over your data at all times.
Delete Individual Records
You can delete individual children, visits, measurements, medicines, and milestones directly from within the app.
Delete All Data
Go to Settings → Reset All Data to permanently remove everything stored by VitalSign on your device. This action cannot be undone.
Uninstall
Uninstalling VitalSign removes all locally stored app data permanently. Anonymous technical data previously sent to Firebase (crash reports, analytics) is subject to Google's data retention policy and cannot be deleted from Firebase servers.
13 Changes to This Policy
If we update this Privacy Policy, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this page and release a new version of VitalSign with the updated policy. Continued use of VitalSign after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Material changes — such as introducing crash reporting — will be clearly announced.
14 Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Pakistan.
We encourage you to contact us directly before pursuing any formal proceedings. We are committed to resolving all concerns fairly and promptly.
