ShiftBook – Work Hours Tracker

1. Introduction

Lumova Technologies (Private) Limited (“we”, “our”, or “us”) built ShiftBook as a free personal shift tracking and earnings calculation application. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding information when you use ShiftBook on your Android device.

ShiftBook is designed from the ground up to be a privacy-first application. We have deliberately engineered the app so your work and shift data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to Lumova Technologies or any third party. ShiftBook uses a small set of anonymous Firebase services to help us improve app stability and performance — these are configured to never collect your personal or work data.

By installing and using ShiftBook, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the app.

2. Age Requirement — 18+ Only

ShiftBook is intended exclusively for users who are 18 years of age or older. This app is a professional employment tool designed for adult workers. It must not be used by anyone under the age of 18.

Age Verification at Setup

ShiftBook requires users to enter their date of birth during the initial setup process. The app verifies on-device that the user is 18 or older before allowing access. If the entered date of birth indicates the user is under 18, access to the app is blocked.

If a Minor Gains Access

If we discover or are notified that a person under 18 has accessed ShiftBook by providing a false date of birth, we will take all reasonable steps to address the situation. Since shift records are stored only locally on the device, there is no data for us to delete — but we ask parents and guardians to monitor app usage and remove the app from devices used by minors.

Parental Responsibility

If you are a parent or legal guardian and believe a minor in your care has accessed ShiftBook, please uninstall the app from their device. All locally stored data will be permanently removed upon uninstallation.

3. User Representations

By using ShiftBook, you represent and warrant that:

• You are at least 18 years of age
• You have provided an accurate date of birth during setup
• You have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement in your jurisdiction
• You are using ShiftBook for lawful personal employment record-keeping purposes only
• You understand that ShiftBook records are for personal reference only and carry no legal standing as official employment documentation
• You will not attempt to reverse-engineer, exploit, or misuse the application

4. Information We Collect

The short answer: We do not collect your personal or work data.

ShiftBook does not collect, store remotely, transmit, or process any personal information. Your shift records, pay rates, and employer names stay on your device only.

4.2 Date of Birth (Never Stored)

Your date of birth is entered once during setup for age verification only. It is never saved to SharedPreferences, never written to any file, never transmitted, and never logged. It is checked against today's date in device memory and then discarded immediately.

4.3 Automatically Collected Data — Firebase Services

Neither Firebase service has access to any shift data, job data, worker name, earnings figures, or any information you enter into the app. Firebase is operated by Google LLC. Google's privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy

5. How We Use Information

• Your personal data — used exclusively by the app itself, on your device, to display shift history and calculate earnings. Lumova Technologies does not access or process this data.
• Firebase Analytics data — used to understand which features are most useful so we can improve the app in future versions.
• Firebase Crashlytics data — used to identify bugs and crashes so we can release fixes quickly.

We do not use any data for advertising, profiling, targeted marketing, or any commercial purpose beyond operating and improving the app.

6. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not share your personal data with anyone — because we do not hold it. ShiftBook does not integrate with any advertising network, social media platform, marketing analytics service, payment processor, or cloud sync service.

We will never sell, rent, lease, or otherwise transfer your data to any third party for any reason.

7. Information You Choose to Share

ShiftBook allows you to share your own shift data through methods that you fully control:

• WhatsApp / Text Sharing — a formatted text summary of your selected period. You decide when and with whom this is shared.
• Copy to Clipboard — the same formatted summary copied to your device clipboard.
• Excel Export — a spreadsheet file saved to your device's Downloads folder. You decide when and with whom this file is shared.

When you use these features, data is transferred directly from your device to the recipient of your choice. We are not involved in this transfer and do not receive or store a copy.

8. Data Storage and Security

All data entered in ShiftBook is stored locally on your Android device using Android's SharedPreferences. This data is:

• Stored only on your device — never transmitted to or stored on any server
• Sandboxed by the Android OS — inaccessible to other apps
• Protected by your device's screen lock and encryption if enabled
• Subject to Android's standard application data isolation guarantees

10. Data Deletion and Your Rights

Delete All Data

In ShiftBook: go to Settings → Delete All Data. This permanently and irreversibly removes all jobs, shifts, and settings stored by the app. This action cannot be undone.

Delete Individual Records

You can delete individual shifts directly from the shift cards on the Home screen or History screen. You can delete individual jobs from the Job management screen at any time.

Uninstall

Uninstalling ShiftBook permanently deletes all app data from your device. No residual data remains on any server because none was ever sent to one.

Your Rights

• Access: Open the app at any time to view all your data.
• Correction: Edit any shift or job record within the app.
• Deletion: Use Settings → Delete All Data or uninstall the app.
• Export: Use the Excel export or Share feature to take a copy of your data.
• Firebase opt-out: Contact us to request opt-out information for Firebase data collection.

If you are in the European Union, you have additional rights under GDPR. If you are in California, you have additional rights under CCPA. Please contact us for assistance.

11. Third-Party Services

No advertising networks, social media trackers, payment processors, or marketing platforms are integrated into ShiftBook.

12. Google Play Store Compliance

ShiftBook is distributed through the Google Play Store. By downloading ShiftBook via Google Play, you are also subject to Google's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy as the platform provider.

ShiftBook's Data Safety declaration on the Google Play Store accurately reflects the contents of this Privacy Policy: anonymous technical data is collected by Firebase and shared with Google LLC; no personal shift records or work data are collected or shared; and users can delete all local data via Settings → Delete All Data or by uninstalling the app.

13. Disclaimer of Liability

ShiftBook is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Lumova Technologies disclaims all warranties including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

• Employment Records: Records created in ShiftBook are personal reference records only. They do not constitute official employment documentation or legally binding records of any kind.
• Accuracy: ShiftBook calculates earnings based on the pay rate and hours you enter. Always verify with your employer's official payslip.
• Data Loss: Lumova Technologies accepts no responsibility for data loss resulting from device loss, theft, damage, factory reset, or any other circumstance affecting device data.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. The Effective Date at the top will be revised when changes are made. Material changes will be noted in the app's Play Store release notes. Your continued use of ShiftBook after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
