1 Introduction
Lumova Technologies (Private) Limited ("we", "our", or "us") developed Nuskha as a free family health record management application. This Privacy Policy explains our data practices when you use Nuskha on your Android device.
Nuskha is a personal record-keeping tool — similar to a digital notebook or filing cabinet for health-related information. It is not a medical app, not a diagnostic tool, and not a healthcare service. It does not provide medical advice, treatment recommendations, or clinical services of any kind.
Nuskha is built from the ground up as a privacy-first application. Your health information — medicines, doctor visit notes, test report records, family member details — is kept exclusively on your device and never transmitted to Lumova Technologies or any third party. Nuskha uses one anonymous Firebase service, Crashlytics, to help us detect and fix app crashes — it is configured to never collect health records or personal data.
By using Nuskha, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
2 Information We Collect
The short answer: Your health and personal data — None.
Nuskha does not collect, store, transmit, or process any personal health information. Your data stays on your device. Nuskha uses one anonymous Firebase service, Crashlytics, for crash reporting only — configured to exclude all health records and personal data entirely.
Data You Enter in the App
When you use Nuskha, you may enter sensitive health information including:
- Family member names, relationships, dates of birth, and blood groups
- Medicine names, dosages, frequencies, and reminder schedules
- Doctor visit details including doctor names, diagnoses, and clinical notes
- Medical test reports including lab names and categories
- Blood pressure, blood sugar, and pulse readings you choose to log
- Known allergies and chronic medical conditions
- Your display name used within the app
All of this data is stored exclusively on your device using Android's local SharedPreferences storage. Nuskha itself never transmits this data to Lumova Technologies or to any server — we have no ability to see, access, or retrieve it under any circumstances. The only way this data leaves your device is if you personally choose to do so, using the Share feature described below.
Sharing and Exporting Your Own Data (Your Choice Only)
Nuskha includes an optional Share feature that lets you send your own health records to whoever you choose — for example, to a family member or a doctor. This happens only when you tap Share and only for the specific record you select. Two forms of sharing are available:
- WhatsApp text summaries — a formatted message containing the information you choose to share (such as recent medicine details or vitals readings), passed to WhatsApp or any other app you select from your device's share menu
- Spreadsheet export — for blood pressure, blood sugar, and pulse readings, Nuskha can generate a CSV spreadsheet file on your device, which you then share or save using Android's standard share menu
In both cases, Nuskha does not send anything anywhere on its own — it hands the data to Android's built-in share menu, and you decide the destination app and recipient. Lumova Technologies has no access to what you share, who you share it with, or when.
Notification Data (Stored Locally)
When you set medicine reminders, Nuskha stores your chosen reminder times locally on your device. This information is used only to schedule local notifications on your device — no reminder data is transmitted anywhere.
Automatically Collected Data — Firebase Crashlytics
Nuskha uses one Firebase service, Firebase Crashlytics, to automatically detect and report app crashes so we can fix bugs and keep the app stable. Crashlytics collects:
- Anonymous crash reports with technical stack traces
- Device model and Android OS version
- App version at the time of the crash
Crashlytics does not collect health records, medicine names, diagnoses, family member names, or any personally identifying health information.
2b Anonymous Install ID
On first launch, Nuskha generates a random anonymous install ID and stores it locally on your device only. This ID is used solely to create a verifiable record of your Terms & Conditions acceptance.
- It is not a device identifier or advertising ID
- It is not intentionally linked to your personal data
- It is not linked to your personal data in any way
- It resets permanently if you uninstall and reinstall the app
3 How We Use Your Information
Your personal health data is used solely by the app on your device. Lumova Technologies does not access or process your health data. Anonymous crash report data collected by Firebase Crashlytics is used solely to identify and fix app bugs — never for advertising, profiling, or medical analysis. All data you enter in Nuskha is used solely by the app on your device to provide you with the following features:
- Displaying family member health records within the app
- Sending local medicine reminder notifications at your chosen times
- Reminding you about upcoming doctor follow-up appointments
- Tracking blood pressure, blood sugar, and pulse readings entered by you
All of the above happens entirely on your device. No data is sent to us or any third party to perform these functions.
4 Data Sharing and Disclosure
Lumova Technologies does not share your data with anyone — because we do not have it. This section is about data sharing by us, not by you; if you choose to share your own records using the app's Share feature, see Section 2 for how that works.
Nuskha does not integrate with:
- Any advertising network
- Any advertising analytics platform (e.g. Mixpanel, Amplitude, Google Ads)
- Any cloud storage or health data platform
- Any social media or login service
- Any third-party SDK other than Firebase Crashlytics and flutter_local_notifications
- Any government health database or medical system
5 Android Permissions Explained
Nuskha requests the following Android permissions. Every permission is required solely to deliver medicine reminders on your device. No permission is used to collect or transmit data.
| Permission | Why It Is Needed |
|---|---|
| POST_NOTIFICATIONS | Required on Android 13+ to display medicine reminders and follow-up reminders on your device. |
| SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM | Required to deliver medicine reminders at the exact time you set. Without this, Android may delay or miss reminders. Nuskha requests this permission with your explicit consent via Android's system settings — it does not use the separate, install-time USE_EXACT_ALARM permission, which is reserved for apps whose core function is an alarm clock or calendar. |
| RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED | Required to reschedule your medicine reminders after your phone is restarted. Without this, all reminders would be lost after a reboot. |
| VIBRATE | Required to vibrate your phone when a medicine reminder notification is delivered. |
| WAKE_LOCK | Required to briefly wake the device processor when a scheduled reminder fires, ensuring delivery even when the phone is in deep sleep. |
| READ_MEDIA_IMAGES READ_MEDIA_VIDEO READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE |
Optional. Used only when you choose to attach an existing photo from your gallery to a health report. Nuskha does not use the camera — it opens your device's photo gallery picker only, and only when you tap the attach option. You can use the app fully without granting this access. Attaching a PDF report uses your device's built-in document picker instead, which does not require this permission. |
| REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS | Optional. Required on Samsung and other manufacturer devices that aggressively kill background apps. Requesting this permission allows Nuskha to deliver reminders reliably on these devices. You can decline this without affecting core app functionality. |
6 Data Storage and Security
All data entered in Nuskha is stored locally on your Android device using SharedPreferences — Android's built-in local storage system. This data is:
- Stored only on your device — never on any server
- Protected by your device's built-in security (screen lock, device encryption if enabled)
- Sandboxed by Android — not accessible to other apps on your device
- Not automatically transmitted over Wi-Fi, mobile data, or Bluetooth — the only exception is if you personally use the Share feature to send a record to an app of your choice, as described in Section 2
We strongly recommend enabling your device's screen lock and encryption to protect the sensitive health information stored in Nuskha.
7 Health Information — Record Keeping Only
Nuskha is not a medical application. It is a personal digital record-keeping tool — the same way a physical folder, notebook, or filing cabinet stores health documents. The app stores only the information you choose to manually enter.
Nuskha does not:
- Diagnose any medical condition
- Recommend medicines, dosages, or treatments
- Provide clinical advice of any kind
- Replace or supplement professional medical consultation
- Connect to any hospital, clinic, pharmacy, or health system
- Verify the accuracy of any health information you enter
The medicine reminders in Nuskha are simple time-based alarms only — like setting a phone alarm. They are not medical alerts and must not be used as a basis for any medical decision including taking or skipping any medication.
Since Nuskha stores data locally and Lumova Technologies never collects, transmits, or has access to it, Nuskha does not fall under health data regulations such as HIPAA (USA) or similar frameworks, which govern organisations that collect and process health data. However, we encourage users to protect their device with a screen lock and encryption to safeguard sensitive personal information stored in the app.
8 Data Deletion
You have complete control over your data at all times.
Delete All Data Within the App
Go to Settings → Delete All Data. This permanently removes all family members, medicines, visits, reports, blood pressure readings, blood sugar readings, pulse readings, and app settings from your device. This action cannot be undone.
Delete Individual Records
You can delete individual family members, medicines, doctor visits, or test reports at any time from within the app using the delete option on each item.
Uninstall the App
Uninstalling Nuskha removes all locally stored health records and personal data permanently. Anonymous crash report data previously processed by Firebase Crashlytics is subject to Google's data retention policies and cannot be deleted from Firebase servers.
9 Children's Privacy
Nuskha collects no personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The app is designed for family health management and may be used to track health records for children as family members.
Since Nuskha stores data locally and Lumova Technologies never collects, stores, or processes it on any server, Nuskha does not violate COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) or similar regulations. We have no ability to collect, store, or process children's data on any server.
10 Internet Access
Nuskha does not manually declare the INTERNET permission in its own AndroidManifest.xml. The Firebase Crashlytics library automatically includes this permission as part of its own configuration when the app is built, so that crash reports can be transmitted. All core app features — adding medicines, logging visits, and local reminder notifications — work completely offline and do not require an internet connection.
Your health records, medicine names, family member data, and personal information are never transmitted over the internet. Only anonymous crash report data is sent to Firebase Crashlytics servers, and only when a crash occurs.
11 Changes to This Privacy Policy
If we update this Privacy Policy, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this document and publish the updated policy with the new app version on Google Play. Continued use of Nuskha after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
We will never update this policy in a way that introduces data collection, tracking, or transmission without obtaining fresh consent from users.
