1 Introduction
Lumova Technologies (Private) Limited ("we", "our", or "us") built MyLoanBook as a free personal record-keeping application. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding information when you use MyLoanBook on your Android device.
Purpose of MyLoanBook: MyLoanBook is a personal record-keeping tool that helps individuals track money they have borrowed from friends, family, banks, or other sources. It records loan amounts, payment schedules, interest calculations, and payment history — entirely on the user's own device. The app does not facilitate lending, does not connect borrowers with lenders, and does not process any financial transactions of any kind.
MyLoanBook is designed from the ground up to be a privacy-first application. We take your privacy seriously — your personal loan and financial data stays exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to Lumova Technologies or shared with third parties. MyLoanBook uses a small set of anonymous Firebase services to help us improve app stability and performance — these are configured to never collect your personal or financial data.

2 Information We Collect
The short answer: Your personal and financial data — None.
MyLoanBook does not collect, store, transmit, or process any personal or financial information. Your loan records, lender names, payment history, and financial data stay on your device. MyLoanBook uses anonymous Firebase services for crash reporting, analytics, and push notifications — these are configured to exclude all personal and financial data entirely.
Data You Enter in the App
When you use MyLoanBook, you may enter:
- Your display name
- Loan amounts, interest rates, and EMI schedules
- Names of lenders (people or institutions you borrowed from)
- Payment records and dates
- Payment proof photos (optional — screenshots or receipts stored locally on your device)
- Your occupation and monthly income (optional — used only to calculate your debt-to-income ratio on your device)
- Notes related to your loan entries
All of this data is stored exclusively in your device's local storage using Android's SharedPreferences. This personal and financial data never leaves your device. Lumova Technologies cannot see, access, or retrieve it under any circumstances.
Automatically Collected Data — Firebase Services
MyLoanBook uses the following Firebase services which collect limited anonymous technical data. No personal information, loan records, lender names, amounts, or financial data are ever included.
Firebase Analytics
MyLoanBook uses Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used in aggregate. Firebase Analytics collects:
- App open events and screen views
- Session duration and app engagement
- Device model, Android version, and country (not precise location)
- App version
Firebase Analytics does not collect loan amounts, lender names, payment history, income data, or any personally identifying financial information.
Firebase Crashlytics
MyLoanBook uses Firebase Crashlytics to automatically detect and report app crashes. Crashlytics collects:
- Anonymous crash reports with technical stack traces
- Device model and Android OS version
- App version at the time of the crash
Crashlytics does not include loan records, financial data, names, amounts, or any personal data in crash reports.
Local Notifications
MyLoanBook delivers payment reminders and EMI due date alerts using Android's on-device local notification system via the flutter_local_notifications package. Notifications are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device — no data is transmitted to any server. Notification permission is optional and can be revoked at any time in your device settings.
3 How We Use Your Information
Your personal and financial data is used solely by the app itself, on your device, to provide loan tracking, EMI calculation, payment history, and statement sharing features. Lumova Technologies does not access or process your personal data. Anonymous technical data collected by Firebase (screen views, crash reports, performance metrics) is used solely to improve app stability and performance — never for advertising, profiling, or financial analysis.
4 Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not share your data with anyone — because we do not have it.
MyLoanBook does not integrate with:
- Any advertising network
- Any advertising analytics platform (Mixpanel, Amplitude, Google Ads, etc.)
- Any social media platform
- Any cloud storage service or database
- Any third-party SDK other than Firebase (Analytics and Crashlytics)
5 Data Storage and Security
All data entered in MyLoanBook is stored locally on your Android device. Loan records, settings, and financial data are stored using Android's SharedPreferences. Payment proof photos (if attached) are stored as image files in the app's private documents directory on your device. All stored data is:
- Stored only on your device
- Protected by your device's built-in security (screen lock, encryption if enabled)
- Not accessible to other apps on your device (Android sandboxing)
- Not backed up to Google Drive unless you have enabled automatic app backup in Android settings
6 Data Deletion
You have complete control over your data at all times.
Delete All Data
Within MyLoanBook: go to Settings → Delete All Data. This permanently removes all loans, payments, and records stored by the app on your device. This action cannot be undone.
Delete Individual Records
You can delete individual loans or payment entries at any time from within the app. Archived loans can be permanently removed by deleting all data or by clearing the app's storage from your device settings.
Uninstall
Uninstalling MyLoanBook removes all locally stored loan records, payment history, and financial data permanently. Anonymous technical data previously processed by Firebase (crash reports, analytics) is subject to Google's data retention policies and cannot be deleted from Firebase servers.
7 Legal Disclaimer
MyLoanBook is a personal record-keeping tool only. Records created in MyLoanBook have no legal standing and are not financial instruments, loan agreements, or legal documents of any kind.
MyLoanBook is not a bank, financial institution, lending service, or regulated entity of any kind. The app is solely intended for personal use to help individuals organise and track their own borrowing records. It does not facilitate, arrange, or process any financial transactions between any parties.
Always consult a qualified legal or financial advisor for any formal financial arrangements.
8 Children's Privacy
MyLoanBook does not collect any personal or financial information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The app is rated "Everyone" on Google Play. Firebase services collect only anonymous technical data (crash reports, screen views, performance metrics) and are configured to exclude any personal data. No financial records or personally identifying information are collected from any user of any age.
9 Internet and Permissions
MyLoanBook requires internet permission for two purposes: (1) to open external links such as this Privacy Policy in your device's browser, and (2) to communicate with Firebase services (Analytics and Crashlytics) for anonymous crash reporting and analytics. Push notifications are handled entirely on-device with no internet transmission. Your personal loan and financial data is never transmitted over the internet.
MyLoanBook allows you to attach optional payment proof photos (such as bank transfer screenshots or receipts) by selecting an image from your photo gallery using Android's system Photo Picker. These photos are stored exclusively on your device and are never transmitted anywhere.
MyLoanBook does not access your microphone, camera, contacts, or location.
• INTERNET — used to open external links in your browser and to communicate with Firebase services (Analytics and Crashlytics) for anonymous crash reporting and analytics. Your personal financial data is never transmitted.
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS — used to display EMI due date and payment reminders via Android's local notification system. Reminders are generated entirely on your device. No data is transmitted.
• SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM — used to ensure payment reminders fire at the correct time. Required for finance apps delivering time-sensitive EMI due date alerts.
• RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED — used to reschedule payment reminders after your device restarts, so no reminders are missed.
• REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS — used to request exemption from battery optimisation so that scheduled payment reminders are not silently delayed or blocked by the OS.
• VIBRATE — used to vibrate the device when a payment reminder notification is delivered.
• WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 9 and below only) — used to export backup files to your device's Downloads folder on older Android versions. Not requested on Android 10 and above.
10 Changes to This Privacy Policy
If we ever update this Privacy Policy, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this document and release a new version of the app with the updated policy. Continued use of MyLoanBook after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
