Lumova Technologies (Private) Limited ("we", "our", or "us") built MahanaBook as a free personal finance application. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding information when you use MahanaBook on your Android device.
MahanaBook is designed from the ground up to be a privacy-first application. We take your privacy seriously — your personal financial data stays exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to Lumova Technologies or shared with third parties. MahanaBook uses a small set of anonymous Firebase services to help us improve app stability and performance — these are configured to never collect your personal or financial data.

2 Information We Collect
The short answer: Your personal and financial data — None.
MahanaBook does not collect, store, transmit, or process any personal or financial information. Your data stays on your device. MahanaBook uses anonymous Firebase services for crash reporting, analytics, and remote configuration — these are configured to exclude personal and financial data entirely.
Data You Enter in the App
When you use MahanaBook, you may enter:
- Your display name
- Income and expense amounts
- Names and amounts of people who owe you or whom you owe
- Notes and dates related to your entries
All of this data is stored exclusively in your device's local storage using Android's SharedPreferences. This personal and financial data never leaves your device. Lumova Technologies cannot see, access, or retrieve it under any circumstances.
Automatically Collected Data
MahanaBook uses the following Firebase services which collect limited anonymous technical data. No personal information, financial data, names, amounts, or notes are ever included.
Firebase Analytics
MahanaBook uses Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used in aggregate. This helps us improve the app experience. Firebase Analytics collects:
- App open events and screen views
- Session duration and app engagement
- Device model, Android version, and country (not precise location)
- App version
Firebase Analytics does not collect your name, financial records, income or expense data, or any personally identifying information.
Firebase Crashlytics
MahanaBook uses Firebase Crashlytics to automatically detect and report app crashes. Crashlytics collects:
- Anonymous crash reports with technical stack traces
- Device model and Android OS version
- App version at the time of the crash
Crashlytics does not include financial records, names, amounts, or any personal data in crash reports.
3 How We Use Your Information
Your personal and financial data is used solely by the app itself, on your device, to provide you with the features of the application. Lumova Technologies does not access, use, or process your personal data. Anonymous technical data collected by Firebase (screen views, crash reports, performance metrics) is used solely to improve app stability and performance — never for advertising or profiling.
4 Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not share your data with anyone — because we do not have it.
MahanaBook does not integrate with:
- Any advertising network
- Any advertising analytics platform (Mixpanel, Amplitude, Google Ads, etc.)
- Any social media platform
- Any cloud storage service or database
- Any third-party SDK other than Firebase (Analytics and Crashlytics)
5 Data Storage and Security
All data entered in MahanaBook is stored locally on your Android device using SharedPreferences — Android's built-in secure local storage. This data is:
- Stored only on your device
- Protected by your device's built-in security (screen lock, encryption if enabled)
- Not accessible to other apps on your device (Android sandboxing)
- Not backed up to Google Drive unless you have enabled automatic app backup in Android settings
6 Data Deletion
You have complete control over your data at all times.
Delete All Data
Within MahanaBook: go to Settings → Reset All Data. This permanently removes all data stored by the app on your device. This action cannot be undone.
Uninstall
Uninstalling MahanaBook removes all locally stored personal and financial data permanently. Anonymous technical data previously processed by Firebase (crash reports, analytics) is subject to Google's data retention policies and cannot be deleted from Firebase servers.
7 Children's Privacy
MahanaBook does not collect any personal or financial information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The app is rated "18+" on Google Play. The app involves financial tracking — income, expenses, and debt management. Firebase services collect only anonymous technical data (crash reports, screen views, performance metrics) and are configured to exclude any personal data. No financial records or personally identifying information are collected from any user of any age.
8 Internet and Permissions
MahanaBook requires internet permission for two purposes: (1) to open external links such as this Privacy Policy in your device's browser, and (2) to communicate with Firebase services (Analytics and Crashlytics) for anonymous technical data. Your personal financial data is never transmitted over the internet.
MahanaBook requests no sensitive device permissions — no access to camera, microphone, contacts, location, or storage.

9 Changes to This Privacy Policy
If we ever update this Privacy Policy, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this document and release a new version of the app with the updated policy. Continued use of MahanaBook after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
